Hellenic Lamb Burgers
Rich with thyme and oregano, this burger embodies classic Greek flavors. But it’s the sweet-and-sour grilled eggplant salad topping that makes this a killer burger. Try the salad as a side dish on its own.
Ingredients
MAKES 4 BURGERS
- 1 pound ground lamb
- medium-size onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano leaves
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
Instructions
- Thoroughly knead all the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl until smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Form into 4 patties, each ½ inch thick.
- Lightly oil the grill or a skillet over medium heat and cook the burgers to the desired degree of doneness, about 5 minutes per side for medium.
