Chicken Satay Burgers
This exotic chicken burger is everything at once: sweet, hot, sour, and salty— very Southeast Asian.
The secret ingredient to this burger’s incredible taste? Peanut butter! You can barely taste it, but that’s what unifies all the flavors. Serve with the peanut sauce for extra peanut punch.
Ingredients
MAKES 4 BURGERS
- tablespoons chunky or smooth peanut butter
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves
- ¼ cup chopped fresh mint leaves
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Mix the peanut butter, sugar, Tabasco, and chicken broth together in a small bowl until well blended. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix together the ground chicken, garlic, cilantro, mint, and salt, using your hands.
- Add the peanut butter mixture and mix until combined.
- Form into 4 patties, each 1 inch thick.
- Lightly oil the grill or a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the burgers to the desired degree of doneness, at least medium, about 4 minutes per side.
